About the role:

This Senior Backend Engineer role offers the opportunity to design and build scalable, service-oriented architectures while integrating AI and Machine Learning solutions into a data-driven SaaS platform. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to revolutionize Real Estate workflows, leveraging modern tools like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. You will be part of migrating parts from our on-premise infrastructure into our AWS ecosystem. With a focus on innovation and mentorship, this role empowers you to shape the digital transformation of the industry while advancing your technical expertise.

Your Future Responsibilities: 

• API Development: Design, implement, and document robust RESTful or GraphQL APIs used by our applications and services.

• Workflow Automation: Build efficient and scalable workflows to integrate internal services with external vendor APIs.

• Third-Party Integration: Integrate third-party tools seamlessly into our AWS-based platform landscape.

• AI Integration: Embed AI-powered solutions and Machine Learning models into backend systems to drive automation and decision-making.

• Error Handling: Implement proper error-handling mechanisms to ensure system reliability.

• Technical Feasibility: Conduct build vs. buy analyses and assess the technical feasibility of solutions.

• Data Management: Design and implement structured and arbitrary data storage solutions, managing complex data relations.

• Architecture: Play a significant role in shaping Architrave's service-oriented architecture, focusing on scalability and maintainability.

• Mentorship: Support and mentor less-experienced engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  

What You Should Bring With You:

     Experience:

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a backend developer.

• Expertise in PHP and Python development, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code. Experience with Go is a plus.

     Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of AWS services and integrations.

• Hands-on experience with WebHooks, API design, and service-oriented architectures, with a clear understanding of their advantages and pitfalls.

• Professional experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient system architectures.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and containerized environments.

• Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and Textract is a significant plus.

• A keen interest and experience with AI/LLM technologies is a plus.

• Experience with lift-and-shift migrations is a plus

• Knowledge of data storage solutions and relational/arbitrary data handling.

• Frontend/React knowledge is an advantage.

    Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to explain complexity straightforwardly within your engineering team as well as to internal or external stakeholders.

• A user-driven and value-oriented mindset without fear of new challenges.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach.

    Language Requirements:

• Fluent in English (written and verbal); German proficiency is a strong plus.
